Running Shorts: The 500 Streak Challenge

Alright, about 500 weeks ago, I consistently started to run the distance of a half marathon in a day, every week. After some time, I came to the realization of this, I think, when I was close to a 50-week streak. Since then, I wondered for how long I could continue to keep the streak going.

The rules:

  1. I must complete the distance of 13 miles on foot within a day.
  2. The distance could be split into multiple runs on the same day.
  3. The week starts on a Monday
  4. The week ends Sunday night
  5. Any run longer than 13 counts toward the completion in that day.

Since then, some rules in place and 500 weeks later I am happy to have complete today at the Tobacco Road Half Marathon my Half distance for week 500. There were many occasions in the past 10 plus years were getting it the challenge completed was doubtful and sometimes painful. Including last week and this week with my riught leg giving me issues that were making it very difficult especially last week to complete the challenge.

Huge thank you to my family and friends that without their support and encouragement this feat would had only stayed as a dream.

With all that said, and 500 weeks completed, will I continue? I do not know, maybe?
